OUR MISSION

The Colquitt County Baptist Association was established in 1911 having once been an area designated as a mission field by the Mercer Association.  The 38 churches that make up the association are each members of both the Georgia Baptist Mission Board (formerly the Georgia Baptist Convention) and the Southern Baptist Convention.  While each church is an independent, autonomous body of believers it is the goal of the association to cooperate together for the sake of proclaiming the Gospel in our community as well as to all the world.  In 2008 this desire came to be expressed in our Mission Statement: To eternally impact our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the ends of the earth with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.  (Acts 1:8)

In seeking to fulfill that mission our churches have established relationships with churches and ministries in places like Atlanta GA, Whooten Kentucky, New York City, and Cody Wyoming as well as Honduras, Nigeria and most recently, Vietnam.  This is in addition to the ministries supported here in Colquitt County and throughout our state.

The Mission Strategies of the Association seek to:

  1. Strengthen churches in biblical discipleship
  2. Develop evangelistic Sunday Schools
  3. Become an Acts 1:8 association of churches
  4. Plant new churches here and abroad
  5. Cooperate with other Associations, the GBMB and the SBC
  6. Work with all Great Commission Christians to reach a lost world

The work of the Association is led by our Associational Missionary, Associational Officers and four Associational Teams:

  1. Administrative Team
  2. Missions Focus Team
  3. Prayer Focus Team
  4. Church Focus Team

We hope you’ll join us as we work together to fulfill the call of our Lord to be His witnesses in all the world.
